Film Photography

This course will teach you the basics of shooting film, covering black-and-white and color-negative film. Students will leave the course with an understanding of the three blocks of exposure: shutter speed, aperture, and ISO, how to use a film camera, how to read negatives, where to send film and basic film editing. This course is in person, where we will work and photograph together in a hands-on learning environment. Students will have assignments and receive handouts of information they learned and a History of Film Photography video lecture.

Students are responsible for film development and scanning fees. Students will get six black & white rolls and four color rolls of film included in the price of the course.


Digital Photography

This course will teach you about your digital camera, covering the essential functions of your camera model, understanding the three blocks of exposure: shutter speed, aperture, and ISO, white balance, file sizes, and types, how to transfer your images, and basic edits in the software of your choice. This course is in person, where we will work and photograph together in a hands-on learning environment. Students will have assignments and receive handouts of information they learned and a History of Photography video lecture.


Photo-Walk

Want to get out of the house? Want to learn a new skill? Book a Photowalk with friends, family, or club. With a photo-walk book, the group will receive a composition handout and basics of digital camera or smartphone photography; the instructor will help with compositions and settings during the walk, photography games, and fun facts. Based on the person who booked the walk, the walk will last one or two hours. Location can be decided by group, or the instructor can offer suggestions.
